The Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) is an integral part of any Cirrus. Before operating a Cirrus aircraft, the pilot should receive CAPS specific training.
The CAPS is designed to lower the aircraft and its passengers to the ground in the event of a life‐threatening emergency. Possible CAPS activationscenarios should be well thought out and mentally practiced by every Cirrus pilot. Pilots who conduct CAPS training and practice using CAPS will have a higher probability of activating CAPS successfully when necessary.
